UK interior designer Louise Bradley recently completed two private villas in Kuwait with a budget for soft furnishings in excess of $1.2m (AED4.6m).
The villas, located in the capital Kuwait City, feature “strikingly different” styles, according to Bradley.
“Both designs are based on individual clients' needs, their notions of comfort, personal taste and what kind of aesthetic they wanted to create throughout their homes,” she told Commercial Interior Design.
Bradley was responsible for the design and internal architecture, as well as the specification of the finishes. All the bespoke furniture and soft furnishings were made in the UK and while the villas' value cannot be disclosed, self-taught Bradley had million-dollar budget to play with for the furniture.
One of the villas features a prominent staircase, a light and spacious design and uses with rich materials.
“The marble floor features a detailed mother of pearl inlay in a feather design, whilst the powder room walls in polished plaster have been decorated with a mirrored leaf design which has been meticulously carved out,” she said.
Hung between two mirror baguette-clad columns is a swing in the formal sitting area requested by the client. This created a playful divide in the room.
Confident architectural forms in the second villa have been completed with “rich jewel hues, deep colours and materials finishes,” she added.
Following the completion of the two villas in Kuwait, Bradley said she is working on private homes in Kuwait and the UAE.
